Blocked landscape

This striking piece explores the intersection of nature and geometry, reimagining the countryside as a vibrant, structured tapestry. Using a "blocked" landscape technique, the composition breaks the natural world into rhythmic squares and rectangles of colour, creating a sense of balance and modern sophistication.

The painting features a diverse palette, from deep earth tones and mossy greens to electric oranges and soft purples. Each "block" represents a field or a shift in light, contributing to a rich, layered perspective.

A central road cuts through the geometric fields, acting as a powerful leading line that draws the viewer’s eye toward the distant horizon. This journey is punctuated by stylised, colourful trees and farmhouses that emerge from the grid-like structure.

The rigid geometry of the "blocks" contrasts beautifully with the organic shapes of the trees, offering a unique take on a classic rural theme.
