Painted over the summer of 2025, this 150 x 100 cm oil on canvas is my most ambitious and largest work to date. It captures the iconic St Mary’s Lighthouse in Whitley Bay, reimagined through a blend of my favorite nautical and coastal elements.

The composition finds a unique balance between the rugged, hard lines of the Whitley Bay coastline and a dreamlike palette of soft pinks and purples. By choosing these hues, I wanted to soften the "strong rocky theme," offering a romantic perspective on a familiar landmark.

To truly bring the piece to life, I hand-painted the frame to reflect the internal colors of the sky and sea. This allows the painting to extend beyond its physical boundaries, creating an immersive experience that pulls the viewer into the coastal horizon.
