End of the river

This piece is an exploration of  night vs day and the passage of time. Painted in a striking panoramic "letterbox" format which I feel brings a fun perspective.

The piece captures a full 24-hour cycle within a single composition, moving seamlessly from a quiet, moonlit night into a vibrant, sun-drenched day.

The painting is predominantly blue, dominated by the deep, moody tones of the water and the shifting dark sky.

To break the serenity of the blue, the shoreline is punctuated by brightly coloured houses and stylised trees. These high-saturation pops of color demand attention, representing the enduring energy of coastal life regardless of the hour.
